Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our certified halal sourcing, catchweight pricing, chilled shipping, and storage.

Is all your meat certified halal?
+
Yes. Absolutely every product on our website is halal. All processing is carried out in our Halal certified approved Dublin facility under strict halal supervision, fully batch-traceable to source.
Where is your meat sourced?
+
We prioritize local Irish agriculture. Our beef, lamb, and chicken are sourced from accredited Irish farms conforming to Bord Bia quality standards. Seafood is wild-caught from the Atlantic or responsibly sourced from sustainable Irish fisheries.
Can I request copies of your halal certificates?
+
Yes, our halal certification is kept on file at our Dublin facility. For trade, catering, or institutional audits, please email [email protected] and we will supply our current certificates same-day.
What does 'catchweight pricing' mean?
+
Fresh cuts of meat naturally vary in weight. Unlike standard retail packs that use uniform sizing loaded with gas/preservatives, our master butchers cut fresh to order. We display typical weight ranges and estimated costs, but you are only charged for the exact weight packed — no rounded-up prices.
How does the checkout authorization holding work?
+
At checkout, we place a temporary authorization hold for the estimated total plus a 10% weight buffer. Once your order is custom cut and weighed, we capture only the exact packed value (which is typically slightly less than the initial estimation). The remaining buffer balance is immediately released.
Is there a minimum order value?
+
Yes, our minimum order value is €30. This ensures we can pack your orders safely inside heavy-duty insulated chilled boxes with the proper volume of gel ice packs to guarantee fresh delivery.
How is the meat kept cold during delivery?
+
We pack orders in insulated thermal liners with reusable gel ice packs inside thick cardboard shipping boxes. This setup maintains a safe temperature below 4°C for up to 24 hours in transit, ensuring optimal freshness.
Which days do you deliver, and what are the cut-offs?
+
We deliver nationwide across Ireland. In Dublin and Kildare, we deliver next working day for orders placed before 2 PM. For all other counties, delivery takes 1 to 2 working days. Deliveries run Monday through Friday.
What happens if I miss my delivery?
+
Our courier will leave your package in a safe location at your address if possible. Since our packaging is rated to keep contents chilled for 24 hours, the meat will remain perfectly cold and fresh until you retrieve it.
How long will the fresh meat keep in my fridge?
+
All items are vacuum sealed at our facility. Beef and lamb keep for 5 days chilled (<4°C). Chicken keeps for 3 days, and fresh fish keeps for 2 days. Freeze immediately if you do not plan to cook within these windows.
Can I freeze the vacuum-packed meat?
+
Yes, vacuum sealing is the best protection against freezer burn. You can place the items directly in the freezer in their original packaging for up to 6 months. For best results, thaw slowly in your refrigerator overnight before cooking.
Do you offer trade accounts for restaurants and catering?
+
Yes, we support hotels, restaurants, shops, and institutional kitchens. Trade accounts get access to wholesale volume-based discounts, monthly statements, and net terms (subject to credit approval). You can apply directly through our wholesale portal.
Can I order custom specification cuts for trade?
+
Yes. Wholesale accounts can set up custom specification cut sheets. Our butchers will portion and trim exactly to your kitchen's requirements for consistent yield. Contact [email protected] to discuss your specification.
